A few months ago we built a little cob rocket stove because our gas ran out.
It worked okay but tended to choke. I was planning to raise the chimney but hadn’t gotten around to it… and then my 8-year-old son took it upon himself to mix up a new batch of cob and raise the chimney.
Check it out:
Now it works like a charm. Just needed that extra draw.

David, I have found the video of the yard, I will repeat the tour as I get through this year, the weeds are ahead of me now and not nearly enough frost to help keep things at bay. I will check on the pawpaw this trip so they can flourish, adding a few things mostly composting the yard in the back, the papaya are producing. Most things have survived the year.
My mother broke her arm in June so I did not get to spend any time there this summer, she did not have to go to a recovery unit and we had fun.
I will try to do better with sending photos and videos, I am still learning.
Your jack fruit looks amazing, my NS1 in the front yard here in Venice had four last year.
More later, thank you.
Marvelous! Thank you. I understand family emergencies – people are much more valuable than food forests, and I’m sure the trees and shrubs can wait.
