Alas, it started as a “Pros and Cons of Earth Ovens” video… then, well, it got a little intense.
A few days ago Rachel helped me work out a script covering the pros and cons of the earth oven we built. This was very useful, since she and my eldest daughter did most of the baking in it. It was a nice, reasonable script, with a bit of light humor in it.
But as I tweaked it and we put the video together, it got more and more entertaining.
But enough talk. Here’s the video.
Sometimes there’s a reason the old technology is now old technology. Still, I loved Kiko Denzer’s book and may build another oven in the future. When I’m really, really bored.

Thank you for posting great YT content. A return to common sense approaches, specifically to gardening is quite refreshing. I started applying some of your “hybridized“ anaerobic fermenting of greens for fertilizer. Question, in one of my tanks some of the plant refuse I don’t used was tomato vibes and trimmings. I understand the foliage is poisonous? Do I need to discard this pot of fertilizer due to poisonous vines I put in the barrel? Any clarification you can provide would be most appreciated. Thank you for the reply and information. After watching many of your “composting video” playlist, I didn’t see a follow up video to your results using your “Jadam Fetid Swamp Compost Tea”?. Did it work as you expected? “Better than or Worse than”?…like your Miracle Grow vs. Urine test.
