It was super hot a week ago, but the rains have come and cooled things off a bit here in Lower Alabama.
Recently we tilled under two patches of ground in the gardens. One was where my daughter had planted wheat last fall, the other was our spring potato patch.
Today I hope to plant both of them with sunn hemp, which will create a bunch of biomass while also adding nitrogen to the ground.
Sunn hemp grows startlingly fast, especially in the heat of summer. This is the patch we planted last year:
If we plant now, we could harvest lots of biomass in September and be ready to put in our fall gardens over the area.

Love your gardening audio books. Any plans to release audio versions of your Jack Broccoli novels?
I want to, but the sales don’t quite justify all the work involved.
