Florida during Christmas looks a lot different than the rest of the country… and you can say the same thing for our gardening.
It’s about time I post some pictures of what I’m growing. So here are some shots Rachel took just a couple days ago. Lots happening, despite the cold. Hurray for Florida!
Beets!
 Cabbage!
 Fava beans!
 Garlic!
 Kohlrabi!
 Lettuce!
 Peas!
And now for some aerial views:
Anyhow… feel free to celebrate the birth of the Savior by doing some garden work… I’m sure He’ll approve. After all… one of the first things God did on earth was create an awesome garden.
And with that – Merry Christmas, one and all. Thank you for stopping by and making this blog much more fun than it has any right to be.

that last picture looks like my backyard :)
HA!
nice!
what garlic are you planting? how's it developing?
The garlic is from Sam's Club. I know… that's really pedestrian. If it fails to thrive, I'll get some via mail next year.
In TN I always had good luck with simply planting what I bought at the grocery store.
you know i've grown some fancy garlic, and it's really not worth the effort. i, too, grow grocery-store garlic. it works fine here, but the heads never get large. still, you plant a clove and you pull a small head of 5 or 6 really good-flavor cloves in a few months… not bad.
