On Christmas Eve, our lawyer’s secretary called to let us know she had received the final signature required for closing. Rachel and I loaded up the family and headed to town and an hour later, we owned a slice of tropical paradise.
What a great Christmas present!
The lot is overgrown and covered in vines, but so far I have discovered:
2 orange trees
1 Mandarin tree
1 sour citrus tree
3 grapefruit trees
2 mango trees (one mature, one not)
3 coconut palms (juvenile)
3 cocoa trees
1 starfruit
2 sugar apples
Innumerable banana trees
Passionfruit vines
A few dozen cassava plants
Multiple large wild yams
2 cinnamon trees
That’s plenty more fruit trees than I thought were there. The thick jungle hid some secrets.
Now I need to get started on building our house. I’ll try to film a video soon so you can see the land.
Finally, my new booklet How to Start a Home-Based Plant Nursery has had the final files delivered for both the ebook and the paperback versions. If you grab a copy now you’ll help boost my sales rankings when it officially releases in a few days.
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas. I’m on a partial vacation right now but will be back soon.
