Last week I posted an article on the chocolate pudding fruit tree I planted at my parents’ home in Fort Lauderdale.
This weekend, Mom sent a picture of herself with the tree. Look how beautiful she looks – and the tree ain’t half bad either:
That is one happy tree. Despite the poor soil, the hot sun and being a very sad specimen at the start, it’s now doing great – and it’s loaded with fruit!
I need to figure out how to get one of my own now.

Well, I can’t grow Black Sapote here in Missouri, but I did plant 3 Paw Paw trees this year so I’m looking forward to those. Apparently they can thrive without “full sun” so I’m hopeful that I can get a decent yield. This is my problem; not enough sun on my several acre plot.
I’ve also planted a couple of Hazelnut trees, which also are supposed to do well without full sun. Crossing my fingers.
