I was talking with a friend about buying land near us and he was shocked by the price.
He said to me something along the lines of “you could get 10 times the land here in (his state) for that price!”
I know. There are plenty of places where land is cheap in the US. And land is expensive here. An uncleared building lot often costs more than a house and a yard in rural North Florida.
But it’s the US. The idea of moving back to the states is completely and utterly unattractive to me now that I’ve found freedom abroad.
I will pay more for land to live in a nice area here and that’s okay.
Saying “it’s cheaper in ______, USA” attracts me about as much as someone saying “but land in Haiti is cheap!” or “land in Afghanistan is a STEAL right now!”
Nope, not interested. I’ll take my sleepy tropical location outside the Empire, thank you very much, and count myself lucky I can even live here.

Good for you. I admire your commitment. At times I feel like I am destined to live in the tropics.
I travel to Central America at least once a year for surf trips. I usually go to Costa Rica or Nicaragua. I hope to visit El Salvador soon. Nicaragua is very poor but I noticed people seem much healthier then the people here in Florida. Everyone I work with is either sick right now or one of their family members is sick with a really bad cold. I went to a Rays baseball game tonight and the people around me were all coughing. And I was one of the coughing people too.
So I have a weird question. Do the people that live in your community tend to be sick a lot? Or do people tend to be healthy. Are your kids always getting colds from the kids at school? Or is that not as common where you are? Hope you don’t mind me asking a personal question. Feel free not to answer if you don’t feel like it.
We don’t send our children to school so we likely dodge quite a bit of sickness.
Unfortunately, a lot of the children here are eating junk food. Candy and chips all day. Farther out in the country it’s not as bad, but all the sugar has come in. Diabetes is rampant.
Good food is everywhere in the markets. One thing we do catch is various tropical fevers. About every two months half of the kids will get fevers that usually clear up in a few days. Thus far most of us have caught zika and chikungunya, though it’s been pretty mild. Just a few days of feeling miserable.
dude! come to nicaragua…a variety of climates, mountains, volcanos, insane surf and beautiful people…and very affordable
I am tempted.
I gotta find me one of those
Good thing any and all bank owned (stolen) land can be taken and given back to the Son of God Meher Baba/Jesus Christ with a common law irrevocable ecclesiastical trust. Government is a hoax TV show, actually. It’s simply a satanic trust that is going to be “trumped” in the coming years. Check your WE notes if you still have any. They also call them dollars. In God We Trust/U.S.A. Inc WE is another name for satan. WE/ME/33/G/lady liberty etc. Americans are satanists by default, operating a person (sub corporation of the In God We Trust and not a trust. Tin foil you say? Check the Pennsylvania Dun & Bradstreet. 1776 anyone? Good things coming to those who trust in God and not His shadow. War? Violence? Working for money to live? Taxes? God has a better offer. One, not WE. Praise Meher Baba, the Awakener <3
