Like most of Geoff’s methods, this worm bin design is simple and easy to implement on the homestead:
An old bathtub, a bucket, some screening, chicken wire and shade cloth… easy!
Getting a new worm bin is high on my to-do list, so I was pleased to find this video from Geoff. It’s quite similar to the one Marjory Wildcraft covered years ago.
Now I need to find an old tub or something. The local bait shop sells red wigglers, so stocking the bin will be easy.
Gotta get that compost going!

Don’t buy red wrigglers from the bait shop. You only get a few in a cup relative to getting them from someone who grows them.
If you drop me a line I can send you some, gratis. I have plenty and have put my vermiculture plans on hold. Or look on Craigslist etc to find some local. Or order from redwormcomposting.com. Any of those will give more bang for the buck than buying cups of bait.
David, that is great. I will set up a bin and get in touch.
