We’ve been advised that the power company is going to cut our power this morning and through most of the day. This will also take our internet down – and it may not come back, as the modem is located downstairs in my landlord’s apartment. They are out of town for the month. We’ll see what happens.

If I seemingly disappear, you now know why.

In related news, my car battery is dead. I’ve tried taking it in to the garage twice and was turned away both times. The second time I was told to come in this morning… but the car won’t start at all now. Local mechanics aren’t exactly  user-friendly. Something is draining the power. If I can get a jump, I’ll drop it off.

Life as an expat isn’t always easy. I miss good old redneck US mechanic shops.
