I’ve been asked many times about growing goumi berries. Though my nursery is sold out for this year, I’ll be carrying them again in the spring.
Here’s the quick story on why growing goumi berries is a great idea:
1. Goumi berries are edible
2. Goumi berries are rich in antioxidants
3. Goumi berries are a nitrogen-fixer
4. Goumi berries are short and tuck in well next to larger trees
5. Goumi berries are drought-tolerant
6. Goumi berries are attractive
7. Goumi berries are basically care-free
Verdict: If You’re NOT Growing Goumi Berries, You Should!
Though goumi berries don’t grow as fast as their cousin the silverthorn, goumi berries grow at a decent rate and are easy to shape however you like.
Plant a few goumi berries: they sail through our winters and are a perfect support plant for any food forest.

I am an American man, and I have decided to boycott American women. In a nutshell, American women are the most likely to cheat on you, to divorce you, to get fat, to steal half of your money in the divorce courts, don’t know how to cook or clean, don’t want to have children, etc. Therefore, what intelligent man would want to get involved with American women?
American women are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste. The behavior of most American women is utterly disgusting, to say the least.
This blog is my attempt to explain why I feel American women are inferior to foreign women (non-American women), and why American men should boycott American women, and date/marry only foreign (non-American) women.
BOYCOTT AMERICAN WOMEN!

As long as you grow goumi berries, it's all good.
If all people kept 100% of all they EARNED WORKING, no taxes, and if we eliminated all handouts entitlements and alimony to all working-aged, all people would have to work or starve and there would be no cunty women in the USA. You see, the women are entitlement pigs at the working taxpayer teat.
Most of the obesity people is due to free entitlement money to people that refuse to earn it by working.
Most of these people have IQs below 85, but will quote you on the welfare regulations verbatim.
If prices of everything were determined by a persons obesity (i.e. 100 pounds overweight would double the prices of everything the fat person would buy — including paying 100% for their health insurance), and if all people wouldn’t get taxpayer handouts, I bet the obesity problem would go away.
There are 25% of the working-age US adult population that would refuse to work and would rather starve to death than to get a job.
There is the the truth. Cut working age people off entitlements. Why am I being taxed?
^ Apparently we have some issues with males in America too.
Males AND females who don't grow goumi berries are definitely suspect.
My geek brain is looking at the above trying to figure out why Mr. Boycott's post ended up here, and then I saw a pattern. There is a list of attributes to Goumi berries, including
6. They're attractive
7. They're basically care-free
Also there is the word "gal" in your post. Therefore Mr. Boycott or his spam-posting software figured this is a relationship blog, and thereby delivered its fascinating payload.
I will say, though, that full list of attributes perfectly describes my wife, except for "drought-tolerant". She won't put up with any drought from me, even if I am Mr. Right.
Heh.
Maybe darker women are also:
2. rich in antioxidants
It works with fruits, vegetables and berries – why not people?
Well the main thing I liked about her was #4. There's only room for one tall tree in this house.
David, I'm in Texas so a visit to your market stall to buy a plant is out of the question. Any possibility you have seed available?
Pete in Texas
No seed; however, they're apparently quite difficult to germinate. I root them in a warm mist house from cuttings. Even then, it takes about 60-90 days for them to root.
I heard that goumi berries vary in chill hours. Do you happen to know which kind has the least chill hours for north Florida?
Hi! Where oh where may I find these in 2022? I just heard about them and as usual, I must have one or more in my forest. Also, any specific variety and where did they grow best for you? Sun or shade of in between? Here’s hoping you get this. I’m also going to see if I can find you on a social media site.
Hi Chrissy,
I got mine from Burnt Ridge Nursery. They seem to like sun.
I have some unnamed ones, and something called Scarlet something.
