This morning I’m headed to the beach to gather bags of seaweed so I can use it as green layers in a composting demonstration I’ll be filming for Prepper Advantage later today. It’s been very dry so I haven’t done anything in the gardens. When the rainy season comes, you can grow without irrigation… but when the dry season comes, heaven help you if you try and do the same.
My regular work has been quite time consuming lately so I haven’t kept up on YouTube videos or even my newsletter. It’s just one of those busy seasons right now and I’m hoping the extra work I’m doing will help us afford a house later.
Right now, most of you are probably in the midst of gardening. It’s funny to think that the real gardening season doesn’t start until June here, when the rains come. If I tried planting gardens in a Florida June, they’d fail. Here the weather doesn’t even reach 90 and when the rains come it’s actually cooler than the dry spring. Live and learn.
I’ll post videos when I have them, and don’t forget to sign up for The Home Medicine Summit if you want to see my presentations (along with a bunch of others).

speaking only for myself…so long as you check in from time to time and let us know how you’re doing….I’m happy with that.
It feels like monsoon season down here in Miami right now. It’s been raining non-stop for 3 days. I managed to get some yard-long beans in the ground late last week and all but the three seedlings my chickens didn’t trample seem to be doing well. Also put some mustard greens in the bed next to the beans and seems like they have all sprouted.
Send some of that rain down here!
Man, chickens are a pain. Good work on the mustard – they did awesome for us in N. Florida.
Did you ever disclose your location?
Most people seem to agree I live in Costa Rica.
I would have guessed Belize…. but not really anyone’s biz. including my own..only curiosity… it has been raining cats and dogs here in Daytona Beach area too…and it is suppose to continue for a few more days… or almost a week alt together… I think I heard it was a sub tropical storm or something like that..
