A Beautiful St. Petersburg Garden

Yesterday I promised I’d share pictures of Wendy’s beautiful St. Petersburg garden.

When she wrote to ask about sources for free, safe, mulch, she also sent me a bunch of garden pictures and then graciously agreed to let me share them with you all.

Check out these beautiful beds:

Lots of mulch gives you nice soil. Keeping the ground covered, particularly in Florida, is very important for preserving fertility.

Wendy also sent a photo of this beautiful blooming chaya:

That’s one of my top vegetables in Totally Crazy Easy Florida Gardening – a great vegetable that produces abundantly.
Wendy has the oft-blooming “deeply-lobed” type of chaya I discussed a little while back in my varieties of chaya post.

Here’s the final photo she sent me. Pink flip-flops and great big brassicas:

Thanks for the gardening inspiration, Wendy.

I’m working on setting up gardening forums here so everyone can start sharing their photos and stories.

Stay tuned.
