I don’t remember where I got the original sweet potato I grew slips from, but these purple sweet potatoes taste rich and look amazing. When baked they turn a darker purple and have a sweet, slightly dry consistency. Very good with butter and salt.
I’m going to have to propagate more to grow this summer. They’re a hit.

I'm new here but I LOVE everything purple……Do you still have slips for these and how would I get them from you. I am near Orlando and just starting a forest for food…..Not my land so have to be sly….I think these could be ornamental looking right?
The vines on sweet potatoes do look ornamental. I've mixed all my slips together in beds so I really haven't a clue which ones are purple anymore… until I pull them in the fall. Drop me a note then and I can make sure you get some roots to try. Otherwise, check your local Asian markets for purples ones. Organic markets/Whole Foods may have some too.
