I haven’t done as many videos for YouTube over the last week, in part because I’m now working to produce videos for PrepperAdvantage.com. YouTube doesn’t pay all that well, so it’s a net gain for me.
I’m spending more time writing and scripting for these videos, as you’ll see in this new presentation on staple crops.
I’ll be releasing five videos a month with Prepper Advantage, so stay tuned. They are targeting the northern half of the US, so my advice will vary somewhat from what you’re used to reading here.
Also, BONUS: check out my Seeds vs. Transplants vid.

Hey David, Thanks for the video. Thank you for sharing so much knowledge. I gotta admit, I really enjoy your videos…it’s almost like visiting with a friend. You seem like such a likeable guy. Saw the re-enactment of you whacking your hand with the machete a couple of days ago…your wife is hilarious. Hope you healed up ok.
I’ve recently started to dabble with making my own transplants, and I can vouch for it being a pain in the butt. Still messing with it and slowly trying to convince myself to just plant my entire suburban yard with stuff rather than try to keep it neat and orderly. I don’t think I can embrace your kind of chaos.
anyway, thanks again man. Love your posts, your videos, and your books.
Also…just looking through the Baker Creek site, and man, you weren’t kidding about them having an enormous selection.
Thank you, Alex. I did heal up okay, though the finger still aches.
Baker Creek is really amazing.
Alex makes some good points that I echo…
Also, big congrats on getting off youtube and getting paid for your work. It will work out fine as long as you always put up the link each time.
I wish someone would explain to me why there isn’t a viable alternative to facebook and youtube.
Thank you.
Yeah, the problem is YouTube loses money constantly. It’s basically a Google charity. No one can compete with the kind of money they have to throw around.
Another crop with high caloric yields and that has a long shelf life: PEANUTS.
True.
