Reason 2?? I should think that's reason # 22,000 at least. Every time I think things can't get any more idiotic with our mainstream food supply, I come across something like this.
The real killer about all this is that not only do these large companies benefit from misinformation or even outright fraud, but they manage to get the government's imprimatur on their practices, often even getting the law to declare their way as the standard, and criminalizing the time-proven methods of the past.
For a good perspective on all this, read Joel Salatin's "Everything I want to do is Illegal" (yeah, I know I keep plugging this–honest, I'm not working commission). Warning: it will inspire you but it will also get your blood boiling.
I'm counting consecutively as I come across reasons… I'm not gonna do the "Victoria's Secret Sexy Tip #458" thing and pretend I'm in the middle of a huge list. No, dang it, I'm gonna do the whole list, starting at one… and ending when I end.
I've been meaning to read "Everything I Want to Do Is Illegal," but haven't gotten to it. I've read two of his other books and they were excellent. The guy is driven.
Hey there: That link is no longer active but this one is (Seattle Times put it into archives):

I’m from Seattle…I left for a reason but this is nationwide! Gonna have to research if this is still going on (article written in 1997) If so I now know why certain diseases are spreading so quickly nationwide! A lot of people don’t know why the Pacific Northwest is a “hotspot” for Multiple Sclerosis but it is. Betcha a gazillion dollars this is why. Maybe Autism, ADD, Alzheimers, Fibromyaligia and all other kinds of “unknown” origin stuff might be attributed to this.
This is WAY worse than “are these people on crack?” This is outright insane.
Thank you, Proverbs 31 Prepper.
