True Yams: The Overlooked Survival Crop

The greater yam (Dioscorea alata) is so easy to grow that it GROWS ITSELF! This root crop beats all others in Florida and the Gulf States. Over 100 years ago, yams were recommended by the USDA as a great new crop for the region – but somehow they got lost.
