SCRUBLAND FARMZ ADDRESS:
22505 NE 130th Ct Rd
Fort McCoy, FL 34132
561-239-6484
NOTE: Don’t Get Lost! If using map apps like Google, just search for Scrubland Farmz and not the physical address. The physical address will send you down a dirt road 1/4 mile before the drive way. We had issues with people not finding the event last year. Google has fixed their “Scrubland Farmz” search to take you to the right place, but the physical address will literally steer you wrong.

Florida Bullfrog – Survival Chickens
If your chickens are getting killed by predators, you’re raising the wrong type of chickens.
Florida native free-range survival chicken expert “Florida Bullfrog” blows apart the current “build a coop” paradigm. How did our ancestors keep chickens? The answer will change how you view chickens forever.
We will also have a book signing and meet-and-greet for his brand-new book Survival Chickens.
BIO: Florida Bullfrog is an 8th generation Floridian and expert on Florida’s natural ecosystems and how chickens fit into them. He has written extensively on chicken breeds and history and has worked to recreate the survival breeds of the past.Â
Green Deane – How to Eat the Weeds
Green Deane, the most-watched forager on YouTube, joins us to talk about the amazing amount of wild edible plants in Florida and how you might just be able to stock your kitchen with food without planting a single thing.
Tommy Van Horn – Florida Beekeeping
He is also the author of The Liturgy of the Land along with fellow homesteader Jason M. Craig.
Randall White – Great Temperate Fruit Trees for Florida Gardeners
Did you know there are some GREAT apple varieties that grow in Florida – and we ain’t talking about Golden Dorsett!
Or that you can grow an abundance of figs, pears, peaches and more – so long as you find the key varieties?
This presentation will open your eyes to the possibility of growing your favorite “northern” fruits even in the heat and humidity.
BIO: Randall White has been gardening since his youth, experimenting with a wide range of techniques and species. His current projects include planting his massive collection of fig trees in a gigantic orchard as well as preserving and propagating rare apple varieties from the Old South. He and his wife Mechelle run the Flomaton Famous YouTube channel, where they share their successes, failures, and plenty of useful information.
