Seven Reasons to Start Growing Goumi Berries!

I’ve been asked many times about growing goumi berries.ย Though my nursery is sold out for this year, I’ll be carrying them again in the spring.

Growing goumi berries is easy. And they look pretty.

Here’s the quick story on why growing goumi berries is a great idea:

1. Goumi berries are edible
2. Goumi berries are rich in antioxidants
3. Goumi berries are a nitrogen-fixer
4. Goumi berries are short and tuck in well next to larger trees
5. Goumi berries are drought-tolerant
6. Goumi berries are attractive
7. Goumi berries are basically care-free

Verdict: If You’re NOT Growing Goumi Berries, You Should!

Though goumi berries don’t grow as fast as their cousin the silverthorn, goumi berries grow at a decent rate and are easy to shape however you like.

Plant a few goumi berries: they sail through our winters and are a perfect support plant for any food forest.
