My son CJ and I spent the day building a Langstroth Long hive from plans on Leo Sharashkin’s site.
We should be able to transfer our nuc frames into this hive. This design requires less disturbance of the bees but still allows you to use Langstroth frames.
It holds 31 deep frames, which is the equivalent of three deep Langstroth hive bodies.
After I took the photo above where we were priming, we painted the hive a pale blue. I have a friend who will come over soon and paint it artistically – it will be beautiful.
