We accidentally tried this and it works well:
We left that board on the ground, meaning to build something with it, and the bottom ended up covered with slugs!
We used beer traps before with good success, but this method doesn’t waste beer. Now you can just drink the beer and throw lumber on the ground instead.

I use sourdough starter instead of beer. The raccoons won’t drink it.
That is cool! I have hear they are really attracted to the smell of the yeast in beer, so that makes sense.
