Isn't it the kernals and not the pits that you should put in the fridge?
Yes, that's right. Good catch. Though putting the entire pit in the fridge usually works as well.
So, how much air should I leave in the bag?
The air in the soil seems to be enough.
I found a vise is perfect for breaking the outer hull without damaging the inner kernel. Put two in the fridge today….
