We had to leave our previous rental, but I went back to get the beehives and we filmed a video of the Grocery Row Gardens:
The aperture on the vintage Minolta lens Rachel used to film was open too wide, so it’s trippy – but I like it that way. People can complain, but I think it looks like it was filmed through Jello. I like jello.
The Grocery Row Garden system really works well – I love how lush it is.
I am sad to leave this amazing garden, but I am NOT sad to leave that rental behind.
Now we own, and I will rebuild a Grocery Row Garden we can KEEP!

I am looking forward to watching your garden starting from scratch in your own place again. I’ve been following your blog and channel for a while, since when you lived near Gainesville. We have moved twice since, have been at our new home for a year now. We are on 1/4 acre, in city limits, but thankfully this Central Florida city allows chickens! We were working slowly on planting edibles and taking out grass and ornamentals this past year. I realize now some of them can be used for mulch, which is nice. We are concerned about camphor trees. They are so invasice… there was a big line of them on the perimeter of the property. We cut down most of the trees because of too much shade. Some of the camphor keeps coming back. Should we use those leaves and branches for mulch/biomass?

Love the video content but the constant in/out of focus issue makes it very unpleasant to watch.

[…] Today I should finish varnishing the wood floor in one of our outbuildings, in preparation for it become our new music recording space. We have gotten a lot of moving done, but with animals and children and lots of plants, it’s a long process. We still need to build a new chicken coop and get our goats and rabbits back from a friend’s place. And move my entire potted plant nursery from another friend’s backyard. The deer fence is almost done around the new garden area, then we can start rebuilding the Grocery Row Gardens we left behind. […]
