I have a new post over at The Grow Network on where to find the very best garden hoes:
“I actually resisted putting this post up because I want to buy every single garden hoe for myself, but no … I am generous.
The two listings I won will be fit onto new handles. The “potato hoe” style works great in the hard clay here.
The old steel on these heads are a lot better than the new junk you get from the hardware store.”
Also, today is the LAST DAY to get Totally Crazy Easy Florida Gardening on sale for $1.99.
Marvelous Mark writes:
“I live in middle Alabama, yet I found a good bit of information I could use here. I was also able to rule out some options I was unsure about for here. A very good and entertaining read.“
And Slightly Salty commented the other day:
“This was the first gardening book I ever bought. A couple years ago I Googled Florida gardening book and this is what showed up from Amazon. The title obviously caught my attention. I have read it multiple times and continue to be inspired from it. From this book I learned about Everglades tomatoes, Seminole pumpkin, longevity spinach, Malanga and other crops that do great in Florida like daikon radishes.
I have had a vegetable garden since I was a kid and have, at times, struggled because I was trying to grow Yankee vegetables that just plain didn’t want to grow here. It was stressful and many times I resorted to chemical warfare. Not anymore. A lot of the information in this book teaches you to plant what wants to be here in Florida which is an absolute game-changer.
That’s cool that this book’s digital copy is on sale right now but I would definitely recommend the paperback that comes from Amazon. I forgot what I paid but it wasn’t expensive, and is totally worth having the hard copy to refer back to.
I can’t say enough good about this book and the Florida Food Forest book. Totally re stoked my interest in growing food and opened my mind to a new way of thinking.”
It’s been wonderful to read the positive comments. A lot of gardens have been changed by this book. Like I tell people sometimes, I’ve killed more plants than most anyone I know. Years of fighting Florida sand, bugs and weather put me through the wringer, so when I wrote TCEFG, I knew it would work well for any Florida gardener.

Hi David. Your link to The Grow Network seems to be broken. Hope all is well.
It’s working – try again. Thanks.
