I live in the Bahamas and have been reading your blog and your books. I am growing a food forest and am enjoying getting ideas from you. We always ate these almonds as a kind of fruit when they were green or just yellowing growing up.
Thank you, Christina. The almonds at my parents’ house are always astringent when I try to eat them as a fruit. I wonder if there’s genetic variation between trees/fruit edibility? I’ll bet there is. I’d love to see pictures of your food forest at some point. I’ve wanted to visit the Bahamas for a long time but never made it there.
