I’m posting from my phone at the moment. There’s a problem in the line coming to our home. A couple of techs came out today but were not able to get things working again. My guess is that a goat ate the line. Most of the roadside maintenance, such as it is, is provided by various ruminants tied by a back ankle to a nearby tree. I actually caught a sheep in the yard today, scooped it up and carried it outside the fence. Beats a lawnmower, I suppose.
Anyhow, I expect to have a much better connection shortly.
While I was chasing sheep and cracking open horrid fruit, back in the states my friend Rick was not only upgrading the server for this site, he was also creating a set of forums. My friend Mart also helped get the categories set up properly for me. I’m not trying to be pushy or weird and I guess you have you’re reasons for the secrecy. But I think I echo a lot of your loyal followers, people who love your site and YouTube channel. I think a bunch of people want to know where you are more specifically, how’d you get there?, how was the logistics of getting there?, the cost?, How’s your family adjusting? How remote is it?, did you find a local church?, Do you have a car?Are you near an ocean or some type of inlet?, Etc. Maybe you’re writing a book on how to leave the US and live in a new country? I think most everyone who doesn’t know you on a personal level has been left scratching their collective heads. Don’t get me wrong, I think what you’ve done, how mysterious, is awesome. I’m hoping in time when you’re comfortable you can unleash to the peeps who love what you do, how’d the heck did you find your way to wherever the heck you are. Haha until then I’ll remain a loyal “follower’, granted all that being said I respect you and your family’s privacy, I’m sure you’ve got a method to your “madness” God bless you and you’re family!
Heh. It was a long journey and a lot of searching. I spent a decade hunting, then finally made the plunge. I actually had some problems with a couple of individuals so as this blog has rapidly gained in size, I figured being too personal might be a problem. I hate to do that to everyone, but I know fellow writers who have had similar issues (and worse). We are in the mountains but only about 10 minutes from the beach. We’ve found a church – which was a major blessing, as it had been a concern of ours – and we are settling in and learning a new culture. Language and the pokiness of getting things done has been a bit tough, though. We just got solid internet after a month of fighting with service. Thank you for sticking around. I appreciate you. -DTG
