I’ll be teaching three survival gardening workshops at the Florida Earthskills Gathering, this weekend, starting Thursday.
Even if you don’t come for my talks, there are a lot of good reasons to attend. Some of the primitive skills being taught may come in very handy if we ever face an EMP strike… or a continuation and deepening of the current Depression.
It’ll be primitive camping and lots of counter-culture folks of all stripes.
My class times will be as follows:
Thurs. Afternoon Workshop (12-4pm)
Friday Morning Workshop (9:15am-12:00)
Sunday Morning Workshop (9:15am-12:00)
(It will be strange not going to church that weekend. Maybe I’ll just go ahead and preach a sermon for Sunday morning’s workshop. Something on the glory of creation and the need for good stewards, perhaps…)
Directions, fees and all that stuff can be found at the Florida Earthskills website (linked above).
I hope to meet some of you there.

This is the first I've heard of the flesg … at initial glance I could probably make it out on Friday, as I have an early morning appointment in Palatka anyway. Tied in with yesterday's discussion: I can't camp out because I have four cats, one dog, and nine chickens that require daily care.
If you make it out, find me!
And yeah… the animals used to tie me down too. Plus I have plenty of children. They're a lot more fun, though.
Primitive and counter-culture… sounds like a clandestine meeting at Ephesus, with Jesus' early followers. Perfect place to preach! Maybe you could have a 7:30a Mass/service before your class, a bonus for earlybirds! :)
Have a question- would you consider selling/swapping/trading some of your homegrown tobacco? I would like to try making flavored shisha for smoking in a hookah. I don't need much- 1/2 ounce, dried weight? I am looking forward to meeting you tomorrow!
Sounds like a drug deal. Heh heh.
I'll see what I have to give.
Do you drink alcohol?
Yes. :)
