I love coppicing and pollarding.
This is how I used a sweet gum tree as a pollarded yam trellis:
Why remove a stump when you can let the tree grow back in sections which can then be used for fuel, stakes, biochar or baseball bats?
You can have greener thumbs by this weekend!

Also to produce fodder for feeding to animals. I’m developing some now for feeding my rabbits. There’s a FB group (I know) called Tree Hay which is a pretty good place to start in this area.
