After a reader saw “The Survival Gardener” in his feed, I was asked recently if I was posting on Instagram again. The answer is… sort-of. I am not a fan of social media and am particularly against Facebook and all its works; however, I also rely on this website in part for my income. With that in mind, I have hired a friend to post on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest on my behalf. Also, a couple of weeks ago I signed a contract with Mediavine to run ads on this site. They are a very professional Florida-based company that sells and manages advertising space. Thanks to them, this site is more profitable than it was before, though you will see more ads here and there.
Though I am on Patreon, I much prefer running ads to asking for support. I don’t need the support, anyhow. I am making enough money to afford seeds, gasoline, books, tequila, coffee and guitar picks. What else could I want?

No problem with the extra ads, but I am annoyed that I can’t get “load more posts button to work.

I feed purchased Timothy hay to my rabbits, then compost their droppings. How would I know if Grazon has been used on the fields where this product has been grown? Would you recommend I stop using any commercially bagged products?
I would quit using commercial products, yes. There’s no way of telling what is contaminated unless you have a lab or put it someplace and see if the plants die. You can plant beans or tomato transplants in some of the droppings mixed with soil and see what happens. They’ll usually grow a bit, then start curling if it’s toxic.
