The more I’ve lived in Lower Alabama, the more I get this:
We know kids here that butcher, folks that can make moonshine, guys that can fix any engine, women that can deliver babies… there’s some old knowledge still kicking around, and it comes back in times of need.
If things keep getting worse, it’ll be good to be a country boy – or good friends with some. Ain’t gonna be no soy latte sippers surviving the zombie apocalypse.
I love my hometown of Ft. Lauderdale, but it’s no place to be in tough times. It was crazy during the pandemic and that was nothing compared to what could happen.
Who do you want around you when times are tough? Who do you want to BE when times are tough?
I’d rather be around farmers than lawyers. Or woodsmen than paper-pushers.
