We did some experiments this spring with planting corn in stations to see if a patch of just three or four stalks planted tightly would still pollinate.

What an interesting thing to see how the upwind vs. the downwind ears did. Looks like we should have hand-pollinated, but now we know exactly what happens without intervention. A successful experiment!
