It’s the Little Things – Photos from the Garden

This morning I went out to the garden and saw multiple interesting insects and blooms, then thought “hey… I should get my camera and write a post showcasing some of these!”

I got my Canon 80D and my big 18-55mm lens, then started shooting. I had one of my boys act as a bug spotter along with me. It’s surprising how many beautiful images we found in the few minutes we were searching. There’s a huge world out there when you have a big lens.

Look at this little cucumber beetle on a wild amaranth:

And this green bee pollinating an eggplant bloom:

And this bright ladybug:

And a little pale visitor on a corn leaf:

I never knew how strange eggplant blooms really were until I got close with my lens:

This guy looks like he’s waiting to mug a passerby:

While these ladybugs enjoy some sun-warmed romance:

Can you spot the crab spider?

The red eyes on this guy almost glow:

Meanwhile, a tropical-ocean-tinted anole is getting hungry:

And a lovely damselfly pauses in her hunt for breakfast:

This guy blends right in with the boulder at the back of our garden:

And this fellow is enjoying a nice walk:

If I took my camera out tomorrow morning I’d find a whole new cast of characters. There is such joy in Creation, even down to the little things.
